Haymarket Landing Patio Concert

Tickets sold out in just 20 minutes for the Haymarket Landing Patio Concert.

“Hey Eau Claire, thanks for coming out! This is the first Confluence Arts Center event,” said Kevin Miller, Director for the Confluence Arts Center as he welcomed the crowd.

“Focusing on local music and showcasing how that will have a real home in the CAC,” adds Scott Morfitt, Station Manager for BluGold Radio.

Scott, an advocate for the local music scene, gives us a rundown on the bands playing, “You have Heart Pills, who’s been a mainstay of this scene since 2008.  And Idle Empress, who’s a newer, female-fronted band, who people are just loving these days. Then Dames is boot-stompin’ country made up of so many talented musicians that have been around this place for a long time.”

Heart Pills livened up the crowd, with an energetic musical interpretation of “missed connections” in the local paper.  Melodic and moody, Idle Empress serenaded the crowd as the dusk fell.  Then Dames closed out the night with an intriguing cocktail of country and psychedlic vibes.

“I’m just honored to be a part of it.  I couldn’t believe Scott asked us, but I’m glad that he did,” said Evan Middlesworth of Dames, and the owner of Pine Hollow Studio.

“I’m really excited for the Confluence to happen, and now it’s happening, so it’s good to be here and celebrating it,” said Lauren Anderson of Idle Empress.
