Winter After Hours

It’s winter in the Chippewa Valley. It can be a cold, lonely, and desperate time. But there is hope…”

One event in our community is offering some relief from the winter blues – we spoke with Volume One’s Event and Marketing Coordinator, Michelle Rowekamp and Outdoor More’s Vice President, Craig Manthe about Winter After Hours.

MICHELLE: It’s a free event for anyone who wants to come out and just get out in the wintertime. We kinda hunker down, and we wanted to create event for people to get outside and enjoy the winter weather.

CRAIG: Get outside. Enjoy it. Love it. Throw on a jacket, throw some warm socks and boots on. The options are endless: snowshoeing, skiing, sledding, sit by a fire, go ice skating. Enjoy the outdoors, the winter outdoors with your friend and family.

MICHELLE: We have along list of sponsors and community involvement, which is really exciting. So the community has really embraced this event, and really supported us.

CRAIG: Outdoor More has been working on Pinehurst Park for over four years now, and we’ve probably put in with donations, grants, in-kind donations, it’s probably pushing $300,000.

MICHELLE: It’s Winter After Hours, so come out to Pinehurst Park in Eau Claire here. It’s every Thursday night from 6-8 PM.
