Illustrations by Ned Gannon at the Library

NedGannon-Pic“Drawn About,” an exhibit featuring artwork by Ned Gannon, will be on display at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire from April 12 through May 26.  An artist reception will be held on Thursday, April 16 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the gallery on the second floor of the library.

“Drawn About” constitutes a selection of Ned Gannon’s work culled specifically from commercial illustrations, with the exception of a few personal works which also illustrate stories. Though much of his work has been directed toward young readers, a range of clients are represented here, from children’s book publishers to a local spirits distributor. The media used to create these images also varies from oil and acrylic paints to images digitally painted in Photoshop®.

Ned Gannon’s interest in nature, history, and mythology provide support and background for the images he generates, regardless of whether they are created on assignment or from personal motivations.

The exhibit may be viewed at the library during regular library hours:  Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.
